Happy Father's Day!

I have here my recent gift idea suited for Father's Day. It's a customized wine bottle adorned with our locally made thread called "abacca" and wooden buttons with personalized names on it─placed atop of a metal wire "calesa". Perfectly wonderful token to surprise your dear father. You may also put something on it like your Dad's favorite rum or any men's drink─to add some fun.
Father's Day is celebrated throughout the world. This is a very special day honoring our fathers as we take this opportunity to give our thanks for everything they do for us. The date of celebration varies from country to country. In the Philippines, the celebrations take place on the 3rd Sunday of June every year.

The idea of Father's Day was conceived in Spokane, Washington by Sonora Louis Smart Dodd while she listened to a Mother's Day sermon in 1909.

Dodd wanted a special day to honor her father, William Smart, a widowed Civil War veteran who was left to raise his six children on a farm.

The following year, June 19, 1910 was chosen for the first Father's Day celebration, proclaimed by Spokane's mayor because it was the month of William Smart's birth.

Decades later, the first presidential proclamation honoring fathers was issued in 1966 when President Lyndon Johnson designated the third Sunday in June as Father's Day. Father's Day has been celebrated annually since 1972 when President Richard Nixon signed the public law that made it permanent.
